What the sheet is
A lab analysis lists the results of chemical and physical tests on a cement sample. Plants issue this sheet only after an export purchase, so the analysis of the supplying plant comes with your order. Before you order, compare the Type II standard requirements on our quality page. Read it next to the standard your engineer specifies.
Chemical results
- SO₃ (sulfate): controls setting; standards set an upper limit
- MgO: high values can cause expansion over time
- Loss on ignition and insoluble residue: show how pure and well-burnt the cement is
- C₃A (for Type II): kept lower to resist sulfate attack
Physical results
- Compressive strength at early ages and at 28 days: the key figure for your structure
- Initial and final setting time: how long you have to place and finish concrete
- Fineness: finer cement gains strength faster
- Soundness: checks that the cement will not expand after setting
